Ownership and Management
In March 2015, after nearly five years of discussions and negotiations, the ownership of the land and buildings of the Park will be transferred from Suffolk County Council to Clare Town Council. The Town Council will own the land and buildings, but has delegated the running of the Park, by means of a 30 year lease and ‘Management Agreement’, to an independent Charitable Trust.
The running of the Park is the sole responsibility of the Trustees.
There are currently eight Trustees. The day-to-day management of the different aspects of the Park are the responsibility of individual Trustees. The Trustees meet regularly to review what has happened since the last meeting and discuss future plans and proposals. Regular reports are provided to the Town Council and the community and an annual public meeting is held to report on the past year and plans for the future.
Quarterly meetings are held for ‘Friends of the Park’ on different aspects of the Park which enables them to take part in more detailed discussions. To become a ‘Friend’ please click here
